Kitchen and Bathroom Trends For 2022

We welcome the new year with resilience – in our personal lives and in design. The last two years have taught us that our home is our sanctuary and retreat but also require strong materials that work well in our everyday lives. Analyzing trends in design and technology, we are seeing homeowners embracing natural and organic elements as well as a desire for durable simplicity and multi-functionality.

Back to Nature - Natural wood grains and wood stains for stove hoods, shelves and kitchen islands add an organic touch to your kitchen. Out is the yellow oak from your grandmother’s kitchen. In are warmer materials such as luxurious walnut and natural blonde woods. This applies to bathroom vanities as well.

Two Tone Kitchen - Two tone kitchens are trending. Homeowners are gravitating toward earthy warm painted green or navy-blue cabinets as well as natural wood grains and stains paired with lighter shaded cabinets. This trend is one that homeowners and designers are fawning over.

Workstation Sinks - These multifunctional sinks provide a food prep cutting board, drying rack and colander- easing up precious countertop space.

Quartz Counter and Vanity Tops - Quartz is less penetrable than natural materials. It is easy to clean and sanitize. There are also many beautiful options to choose from.

Easy Connectivity to Appliances - Homeowners are embracing technology in their homes. They are leaning towards app-controlled appliances and touchless fixtures, as well as energy and water efficiency.

Walk-In Showers - Tubs will always be a main stay in bathrooms but many homeowners are opting for walk-in showers and replacing their hard to enter tubs. Showers are being built larger and often have body sprays and rainfall shower heads that provide the ultimate spa-like experience.

Larger Tile for Bathrooms - Large format sleek tiles offer less grout lines providing you with easier cleaning.

Earth Toned Tiles - Homeowners and designers are leaning towards green, blue, greige and earthy warm tones for bathroom tiles. Warmer hues offer a relaxing spa-like oasis in your home.

Brooklyn Tile and Design is up to speed on the latest trends and designs. We invite you to visit our recently renovated showroom and see these trends firsthand.
